Our client, a sports tv network, is seeking a Communications Manager to join their team on a 5-month contract basis

You will report to the VP Corporate Communications and be responsible for:

  • Help to develop and assist with high-impact media relations strategy to build the profile, strategy and reputation of entertainment brand to US audiences, with particular support of senior executives
  • Assist with the identification of key media and speaking opportunities, events, conferences, networking and meet and greets to raise the leadership team's profile and influence, both internally and externally
  • Assist in the research of media outlets, reporters, editorial calendars and special issues to identify coverage opportunities
  • Assist with media inquiry requests across trade, business and digital
  • Produce news clips as requested to keep corporate communications and senior leadership teams informed and engaged in industry news and trends
  • Maintain and update media lists, press contacts and email distribution lists as well as send out press releases using both Cision and PR Newswire
  • Work closely with other US and international Corp Comms and other company divisional teams as needed
  • Prepare talking points, executive announcements and network profiles for presentations, conferences, town halls, interviews and panels
  • Draft briefing documents for executive interviews and speaking opportunities as well as staff the executive during interviews and/or events
  • Draft and/or research press materials such as bios, releases, special issues and award submissions
  • Assist VP to help drive accountability through effective activity/project trackers, comms plans, detailed budgets and success metrics on all projects and events
  • Assist with printed materials, assets and videos for events and presentations
  • Support EVP and VP with Crisis Communications as required
  • Assist and coordinate executive photo and video shoots, working with internal production team members and external vendors
  • Assist EVP in special projects including but not limited to requests from the international team and the executive team
  • Assist VP in management of external agencies and third-party vendors

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, English or related field
  • Min 5 years of professional experience in public relations/communications in Television or media industry
  • English/Spanish fluent in both written and verbal communications is a major plus
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Experience in media and digital communications
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and juggle projects and deadlines within a fast-paced environment
