Our Client, a technology company, is looking for a Graphic Designer to join their team in Richmond, VA. Must have worked with print, direct mail, brochures, annual reports or other polished work for highly visible companies. Also creative use of typography, images and color that demonstrate an extensive knowledge of the principles of design and able to defend their work.

The Role:

Receives creative direction and revisions from the creative team. Uses Mac-based prepress programs to create preliminary layouts for presentation eventually produces final output ready files and folding mock-ups for transfer to the production team. Is self-organized and manages deadlines and production scheduling on numerous, concurrent projects.

  • Exhibits a clear understanding of: marketing objectives, production constraints and capabilities, and possesses a thorough understanding of design, layout and typography
  • Provides technical direction and scheduling information to related production groups
  • Perform image research when needed
  • Understands PostScript troubleshooting of problem files.
  • Knowledgeable about page-layout shortcuts, third-party extensions, and prepress, press and bindery issues.
  • Can create multi-page die-cuts.
  • Can create duotones in Photoshop.

Skills Wanted:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience, (Financial Services helpful, but not required).
  • Can present, execute, implement, train or manage to existing or new best practices.
  • Helps create new best practices to increase overall effectiveness of end product.
  • Technical Knowledge: InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop are required. Acrobat helpful.
  • Web program experience also helpful: Flash, Fireworks, Dreamweave
