Our client is a leading financial provider looking for an Instructional Designer for a long term contract opportunity! You will work closely with stakeholders and subject matter experts (SMEs) to assess and scope the instructional needs of the intended audience along with the following skills and competencies.


  • Works with subject matter experts to understand and convey technical concepts, procedures, and scenarios to the audience. Makes effective use of SMEs’ time.
  • Works independently using documentation, applications, etc. to keep the project moving in the absence of subject matter experts.
  • Revises SME content for the sound instructional design.
  • Creates detailed storyboards reflecting the design and development of the solution.
  • Writes lessons, interactive content, video scripts, voiceovers.
  • Generates and maintains a comprehensive project plan and timeline for course development in team production environment.
  • Estimates then track hours on projects and use data to forecast for future projects
  • Develops and/or edits instructional content using development tools, including (but not limited to); Adobe Captivate, Articulate, XML and Adobe Flash.
  • Develops assessments to monitor learners’ progress through the courseware; measures learning results.
  • Interacts with vendors, as well as corporate and dispersed personnel, to manage course development projects.
  • Conducts usability testing and quality assurance testing to ensure intuitive, practical, high-quality e-learning solutions.
  • Attends conferences and seminars, as well as maintains relationships with vendors, to research, evaluate and recommend new technologies to meet the company’s training needs.
  • Develops processes for creating and evaluating (company and 3rd party vendor) courseware to ensure consistent quality and appropriate content.
  • Oversees the distribution and archival of courseware. Analyzes usage reports to determine trends and provide input on strategic decisions.
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.


  • Complexity: Functions Responsible for or Influenced Manages projects from start to finish, global in nature. Deliverables may need to take into account translation requirements.

  • The client is unable to support 1099 / Corp-to-Corp or Independent Contractor arrangements at this time. All freelancers will be paid as W2 employees.
