Onward Search has an exciting opportunity for an Internal Communications Associate Manager with our client, a leading global energy company. As an Internal Communications Associate Manager will play a vital project manager role shepherding content resources during a fast-paced, pre/post integration period with a dynamic group of internal stakeholders and often-changing elements. There is a significant opportunity for growth and ongoing leadership potential in this role for the right candidate with demonstrated experience supporting high-profile, internal mergers and acquisitions activities, with a proven track record for building successful processes and tracking systems to monitor the effectiveness of communications outputs.

This is a contract to hire opportunity located in the East Bay that kicks off immediately!

Skills:

  • The Internal Communications Associate Manager will work full-time with the National Manager of Communications for direction and guidance during collaboration with the broader team of employees working on ongoing company integrations
  • Some of the content development tasks the leader in this role will have responsibility for include but are not limited to:
  • Acting as lead content development, administrative, and logistics point of contact for integration communications activities
  • Creating customized communications plans and timelines aligned with priority communication materials that will be prepared for internal employees, external customers, and other partners
  • Creating new templates and modifying existing templates for communications activities related to promoting new business updates, e.g., memos from senior managers, customer outreach communications, joint press releases, media advisories, social media postings, and the like
  • Interfacing with Executive Leadership teams as the primary intermediary during pre-acquisition and ongoing integration activities, assessing, anticipating, and addressing communications content needs that will help make the business transition smooth and effective for all leaders and incoming employees becoming an internal subject matter expert on company site structure and Communications and Marketing team resources over time, to be able to recommend and effectively connect newly-acquired teams with existing materials to make their integration successful.

Requirements:

  • Excellent writer and interpersonal communicator with a passion for crafting customized communications for internal and external audiences.
  • B.A. degree with 4-6 years content development experience; successful internal communications campaign and external, public relations writing samples will be required.
  • Demonstrated experience and comfort when interacting with and supporting dynamic, cross-regional C-suite stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a professional setting managing several projects at once, working independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience or consistent exposure working on typical communications and business activities related to M&As before transaction close and following transaction close.
  • Experience in or demonstrated an understanding of the energy services, sustainable building, and/or construction industries.
  • Demonstrated ability to project manage cross-functional initiatives and effectively track and report outcomes.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Strong ability to self-start and communicate cross-functionally.
  • Ability to give presentations to large audiences and travel to engage with regional teams during integration transition periods.
  • Fluent understanding of social platforms: Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
