Our client, an entertainment company is looking to hire a Jr. UX Researcher for a 12+ month opportunity located in El Segundo. This person will be responsible for conducting primary research, exploring the behaviors and motivations of our users through methods like field visits, ethnography, observations, diary studies, and surveys. A successful Jr. User Experience Researcher must have a basic understanding of user research methods and best practices.

Responsibilities, Skills and Experience:

  • Conduct qualitative research both online (e.g., dscout) and in the field (e.g., in-homes, immersions, etc.) and provide impactful and actionable insights and opportunities.
  • Conduct secondary research to gain an initial understanding of a particular space as well as to support primary research insights.
  • Synthesize large amounts of data across multiple sources (primary and secondary).
  • Create project deliverables that translate research insights into impactful opportunities.
  • Advocate research findings through written reports and in-person presentations.
  • 2+ year of experience conducting user research
  • A BS or equivalent degree in Human Computer Interaction, Anthropology, Information Design, or a related design or behavioral science discipline
  • Experience turning qualitative research into meaningful insights
  • Experience utilizing qualitative research methods (e.g., ethnographic, observational, on-on-one interviews, contextual inquiries)
  • Communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Experience conducting secondary research across a variety of reputable resources: industry reports, websites, articles, blogs, or other relevant source
  • Data visualization (e.g., frameworks, diagrams)
  • Ability to quickly share top line insights with the team and stakeholders
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and working on projects that tackle large, broad topics
  • Passionate about their work and for solving problems
  • Eagerness to continually learn, grow and improve
