Our client, a tv network, is looking for a Production Manager to join the TV Production team.

You will report to the
VP, Production Services and be responsible for:

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the newly created centralized crew business strategy & operations of centralized crews
  • Work closely with production and studio finance teams to ensure financial objectives are being met
  • Tracking labor assignments and material costs to ensure we are aligned with the budgeted costs set forth by each production for each department
  • Oversee the on-boarding and billing process for the department
  • Liaise with VP to make decisions for operational activities and ensure business objectives are met
  • Track labor assignments for each production to optimize shareability amongst crews
  • Oversee the full on-boarding process of the centralized crews including oversight of the pre-employment testing and CSATF requirements
  • Manage the union department heads and construction coordinators and ensure they are working in alignment to the business strategy
  • Monitor actual labor and material costs against budgeted costs and provide recommendations on adjusted budgets to the VP
  • Create reports to provide visibility to production finance on details of labor and materials costs
  • Communicate with production accountants to validate rates to align to their overall production budgets
  • Evaluate overall performance by gathering, analyzing and interpreting data and metrics
  • Manage the timekeeping and billing clerk and be able to provide guidance and ongoing feedback
  • Work with Entertainment Partners for any setup, on-boarding, and billing requirements for crews
  • Schedule and maintain detailed records of testing results of centralized crews
  • Work with HR to address performance concerns and keep track of changes to crew member preferences by production

Musts:

  • 6-8 years of experience with a strong understanding of the production process across multiple crafts
  • Knowledge and understanding of the financial expectations and requirements put forth by production
  • Broad understanding of supporting a union environment
  • Strong computer skills; specifically, the ability to track and maintain a large amount of data within Excel
  • Must be able to communicate with finance teams
  • Must be highly organized and maintain a high level of attention to detail
  • Must handle stressful situations professionally and confidentially as well as interact with co-workers and clients professionally.
  • Must be an affective trouble shooter, communicator, and problem solver
  • Production accountant experience preferred
  • Proven knowledge base of union variances
