Production Manager, AV editorial & finishing

Our client, an entertainment company, is seeking a Production Manager, Custom Content to join the Custom Content Operations team.

You will report to the Ops Lead for Custom Content and Photography.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as an essential operational role to keep our custom content team’s busy creative asset production workflows and deliverable tracking running smoothly
  • Forming the connective tissue between our creative producers, external agencies, internal finishing and asset management
  • Immersed into the day-to-day operations to facilitate deliverable requirements and clearance
  • Partner with Custom Content creative leads in the development and production of featurettes, original custom content pieces, marketing clips and EPK packages
  • Collect estimates from vendors, update budgetary reporting tools and documentation; compare estimates to vendor rate cards and flag variations
  • Facilitate delivery of pre-release content to vendors; Track episode delivery schedule in conjunction with marketing asset production timelines
  • Monitor finishing schedules and flag to creative production any variations affecting deliverable deadlines
  • Manage vendor kickoff for custom content editorial and finishing, setup access to collaborative folders and tools
  • Run point on comms between stakeholders in custom content editorial and delivery workflows and approvals, including Creative, Vendors, Legal, Platform, Finishing and Asset Management
  • Route assets to Legal BA for approval
  • Collaborate with Ops Lead, Custom Content Creative Directors and Associate Producers, and Finishing team in the creation and maintenance of asset production resources and documentation
  • Track estimates and provide reporting to Ops Lead; assist in quarterly accruals for editorial and finishing
  • Assist in Project Management of keynote and multi-title requests for assets in collaboration with Ops Lead and Asset Managers
  • Collaborate with the Operations team on the updates to tools and new technology; be a key stakeholder in the development and build of project and asset management systems

Musts:

  • Experience working across internal partners and external agencies to understand their needs and execute under tight deadlines
  • Technical production expertise in AV editorial and finishing workflows
  • Well versed in digital file formats and has experience managing AV production workflows and budgets within the entertainment space
  • Robust understanding of AV editorial and finishing workflows and rates
  • Knowledge of video/audio codecs as well as HD, 4K and UHD formats
  • Prior experience in production management for creative agency, network, streaming service or studio
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of the creative production process and terminology
  • Excellent project management skills; strong time-management; excellent attention to detail
  • Highly organized with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Creative problem-solving skills and good follow-through
  • Clear written/verbal communication
  • The ability to explain complex matters in easy-to-understand terms. Strong interpersonal capabilities
  • A proactive attitude and ability to take initiative and work both independently and within a team
  • The ability to streamline complex processes, establish workflows and keep up to date with the latest technologies
  • Proficiency in Frame IO, BOX, Media Portal, Airtable, digital asset management and file transfer protocols and systems
  • The ideal candidate brings scalable approaches and has a deep understanding of digital media.
