Our client, an entertainment media company, is seeking a Product Designer to assist with a long project.

You will report to the Sr. Director of Product Design and be responsible for:

  • Work independently and as part of a team to create smart, engaging, usable designs across consumer-facing products including desktop and mobile web work must be “fan-focused” with function and utility driving all decision-making
  • Create polished web designs across desktop and mobile platforms for our Discovery experience
  • Rapidly iterate on initial ideas, using sketches, wireframes and/or rough mocks to uncover the strongest possible solutions
  • Explain your thought process and design rationale clearly and succinctly, using user insights and data to back up solutions
  • Analyze primary and 3rd-party data to develop mental models and customer-journey maps
  • Translate business requirements and specifications into usable, useful and desirable user experiences
  • Participate in new-business activities, presentations and estimates
  • Create responsive UX/UI designs
  • Assist with user research and usability testing activities
  • Collaborate with content strategists on hierarchy and taxonomy
  • Collaborate with creative team on interaction design and flows
  • Present work to internal teams


  • 3-5 years of relevant product design experience, including the creation of site maps, user flows, wireframes and detailed final designs
  • Some experience conducting user research and usability testing activities
  • Experience designing across devices (desktop, mobile, tablet) and responsive web
  • Experience communicating design decisions to internal and external teams
  • Expert knowledge of Sketch is a must
  • Ability to clearly explain design decisions to experts and laypeople
  • Strong understanding of interaction design and usability best practices
  • Understanding of responsive design
  • Ability to produce quality designs within an agile environment
  • Strong understanding of relevant technologies for desktop and mobile
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to follow directions and complete assignments on time


  • The client is unable to support 1099 / Corp-to-Corp or Independent Contractor arrangements at this time. All freelancers will be paid as W2 employees.
