Our client, a start-up empowering teen girls, is seeking a Marketing Director to join the team.

You will report to the Co-Founder/Chief Creative Officer and be responsible for:

  • Be a creative marketing growth hacking leader to oversee the launch and growth of a new app platform
  • Creating the strategy for reaching two key audiences - girls and parents - executing a spring product launch and audience development, engaging marketing partners, and creating integration plans and production timetables to drive to launch and sustain the platform
  • Develop, evolve and execute on a marketing strategy to launch and scale the growth of the digital and live platform
  • Set up and institute key performance measures for the growth of both the live and digital platforms and create a system to optimize and report out on performance
  • Develop the right mix of user acquisition and engagement tools that address core audiences’ interests and digital behavior
  • Act as a platform evangelist within the organization, with partners and with core audiences to build awareness and understanding of the platform
  • Collaborate with partners in and out of the organization to identify areas for growth
  • Hire 1-3 people within year one, remaining very hand-on in a start-up all-hands-on-deck environment


  • 5-7 years of experience as a marketer in a consumer facing digital business, with hands-on experience developing and executive marketing strategies, working in consumer-facing technology
  • Experience in the digital/app/social media is most important having data-driven, digital growth hacker successful case studies
  • Domain expertise in UI/UX practices, and a curiosity around understanding the evolution of interaction patterns and how products spread and grow
  • Fluency with and a data driven approach to viral and paid acquisition, content marketing, SEO, customer engagement and analytics and multivariate testing
  • Deep knowledge of social media platforms and engagement patterns of young audiences
  • Experience with scaling newly launched mobile apps
  • Hands on experience with Apple’s app analytics, Google Analytics and Mixpanel
  • Experience with or enthusiasm about working in a small startup environment, with fluid job definitions and a done-is-better-than-perfect approach
  • Experience working with teen and/or female audiences is a plus


  • The client is unable to support 1099 / Corp-to-Corp or Independent Contractor arrangements at this time. All freelancers will be paid as W2 employees.
