Our client, an entertainment company, is seeking an Integrated Marketing Strategy Director to join the Marketing team.

Responsibilities:

  • Help in managing day-to-day responsibilities of the global launch campaigns for several upcoming scripted series across a diverse range of content (drama, comedy, international originals)
  • Work closely with existing marketing strategists to help craft, build and guide the comprehensive, go-to-market strategies. Acting as a key, central cross-functional liaison between Marketing, Creative, Publicity, Social, Product, Development, Business Affairs, Legal and more
  • Focus on handling workflow, processes, and execution - driving dynamic 360 marketing plans with goals of sub acquisition, consumer buzz and ultimately, viewership for our Originals around the world
  • Interact with external agencies as well as show creatives (show runners, EPs, creators), working closely with them to articulate and communicate their vision to the key audiences throughout the lifecycle of a series
  • Lead and support campaign strategists in developing in-depth marketing strategy for scripted series including positioning, audience targeting, comms strategies, research / cultural analysis; socialize strategy and creative output with cross-functional teams as well as with key stakeholders including executive teams, development, producers/ creators and filmmakers
  • Assist in managing cross-functional team planning to develop and execute 360 campaigns, including leading key meetings, developing campaign recaps and updates, and using project documents, such as marketing trackers, timelines, status reports, budget review, etc. to ensure execution against goals
  • Work in partnership with creative teams on development of campaign creative suite and oversee collaborative internal and external partner execution of multi-media content assets that extend the show across paid/organic initiatives, ensuring materials are aligned to show positioning and brand, and that creative is consistent across all consumer touch points
  • Liaise with media, social and PR teams to develop brand and performance driven plans that effectively promote content.
  • Prioritize resources and work outputs and determine key deadlines, and deliverables requirements, work back schedules to build and communicate realistic timelines for execution.

Musts:

  • 10-15 years of consumer integrated marketing strategy experience, with direct responsibility for launching original non-fiction content in media / entertainment
  • Strong and recent examples of having launched shows from strategy development through premiere and sustain interfacing with EPs, Showrunners and navigating a highly complex, matrixed internal organization
  • Extensive knowledge and experience running robust portfolio of creatively led 360- campaigns, from show strategy to executing the tactics, both paid and organic, and delivering results
  • Developing strategy, positioning and target audiences for consumer campaigns at scale
  • Guiding strategies and partnering with digital teams on organic social and digital spanning content creation, community and audience development
  • Driving brand partnerships, promotions, activations and integrations with internal teams or 3rd parties, including retail extensions, experiential opportunities, growth marketing and editorial placements
  • Cross-functional collaboration across PR/Communications/Awards, adjacent business, distribution and creative teams
  • Expertise partnering directly with producers, filmmakers, talent, representation and creators on all campaign marketing
  • Knowledgeable in developing media strategy and analytics, e.g. media mix decisioning, budgeting and forecasting, media pricing and budget optimization, return on investment, goals / measurement
  • Stellar executive written and verbal communication skills. Able to present ideas simply in presentations and documents across a range of partner perspectives — from creative to business / quantitative
  • Brings a highly strategic and analytical approach to decisions and problem-solving
  • Excellent organizational, scheduling, project management and multi-tasking skills with proven attention to detail
  • Inventive self-starter, willing to roll up sleeves
  • Demonstrated leader with established track record and career progression, with a shown ability to collaborate and partner cross-functionally in our highly matrixed organization
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent

  • MBA or relevant graduate work
  • International experience or experience working with international teams
