Business Insights & Reporting Lead

Our client, a social media content company, is on the hunt for Business Insights & Reporting Lead to join the Sales Operations team.

Responsibilities:

• Work to build data pipelines and create semantic data models that will power insights for sales and sales operations leadership.
• Collaborate closely with other functions like Sales Operations, Data Engineering, CRM Technology and Revenue Strategy to deliver projects that will help build a deeper understanding of business through scalable data engineering and reporting
• Build scalable reporting infrastructure, including data sets, queries and dashboards that enable Sales Leadership to understand the business through metrics like revenue attainment, revenue forecast, coverage, retention and sales productivity
• Write accurate and stable code for building data pipelines and semantic data models
• Contribute to the architecture and construction of our Business Intelligence platform from both a technical standpoint and a user experience perspective
• Deliver on ad hoc analyses prompted by questions from business reviews
• Actively contribute to development, production, automation and continuous improvement of content that meets the needs of our operating rhythm, including weekly business reviews focused on input metrics
• Collaborate with CRM Technology and Data Engineering on the collection and organization of key data

Musts:

• 7+ years of experience working in an analytical role within a business context, including fields like Revenue Operations, Management Consulting, Finance, Investment Banking, Business Analytics or a related field
• 5+ years of specialized experience with advanced data visualization and reporting tools in roles such as Data Engineer, Business Intelligence Engineer, or similar role
• 5+ year experience in SQL or similar languages
• 5+ years development experience in Python
• 3+ years of experience working with tools like Looker to design semantic data models using languages like LookML
• 3+ years of experience in Apache Airflow or similar workflow orchestration tools

Pluses:

• Hands on experience with Google BigQuery
• Experience in version control systems such as Git
• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, computer science, engineering, finance or or equivalent experience
• Expertise with Salesforce CRM (specifically Tableau CRM and Sales Cloud) and Looker
• Experience supporting the data needs of a large (1,000+) sales team
• Experience partnering with business and strategy teams to architect and strategize scalable data visualizations
• Strong operational mindset & attention to detail; an ability to design and implement solutions at scale
• Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and an ability to initiate and drive projects to completion with minimal guidance (at times in a changing environment with a high degree of ambiguity)
• Direct experience with advanced data analysis, SQL, statistical methods, modeling and visualization platforms like Tableau CRM, Looker, Grafana, etc.
• Familiarity working with data pipelines and creating semantic data models in tools like Looker to provide information in a scalable/automated way
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with Engineering and Technology teams to discover (or build) the right data sources and leverage them for business insights
• Proven ability to triage business requirements and translate them into a roadmap with clear milestones and timelines
• Ability to effectively communicate complex projects to non-technical stakeholders
