3D Environment Artist

Onward Search is looking for a 3D Environment Artist to take on a freelance role at a studio near downtown LA. This is an intimate team with 2 offices who specialize in creating environments for photoshoots, commercials, videos and more. They work very collaboratively to make sure their clients are not only satisfied but "wowed" by the work being produced. This studio collaborates with the other, which happens to be in the UK so communication is as important as high end skills. Taking ownership, ensuring every detail matches the expectation from start to finish is required. Deadline driven, constant communication as projects are built is also necessary to be successful here.

REQUIREMENTS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Skills needed include: 3D Studio Max, Autodesk Maya, Corona, Substance Painter, Substance Designer, Unreal Engine, VRay, Zbrush
• Portfolio should convey eye for details and realism, use of lighting, ability to apply textures and should show well-structured compositions
• 3+ years experience - looking at varying levels of experience working with post-production
• Team player who takes ownership and responsibility to make sure all details are perfect and client is satisfied
• Deadline driven
• Excellent communication skills - overly so
• Participate in team discussions, image critiques, etc.
• Experience with client contact
• Open to working onsite in studio with very small team and enough space to be safe during these uncertain times
