Our client, a TV Network, is seeking an Assistant Editor to join the team.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the day-to-day needs of the editorial team, from receiving delivery of dailies to ingest and archiving, across the suite of tv brands
  • Main focus is to support the in-house editorial staff with organization of assets and edit projects, digitizing/up-rezing, scene builds, string-outs, exports, transcoding, light sound design decisions, shot selections and importing graphics from the design team
  • Editorial management of digital assets and workflows from delivery, ingest, prep for editors, string-out, scene builds, up-rezing, SFX searching, import/exports, transcoding and archiving. Prioritize editorial requests. Trouble shoot tech issues with received files and QC export transcodes to and from editorial teams
  • Proper organization of asset management and insures editorial deadlines are met
  • Also help with the digital, print and PR team’s editorial requests for clip spots and highlights for the suite of Network digital and marketing outlets
  • Assist with the technical operations team management of the Isis, NAS, and cloud archival workspaces
  • Working daily in knowledge of Avid Media Composer, Avid Isis server, Adobe Premiere, Adobe Media Encoder, file specs and compressions codecs and current digital and broadcast video aspect ratios
  • Assist with Tech Ops editorial requests from in-house editors, FinalFX and vendors
  • Monitor storage capacity for all mass storage devices including SAN/NAS, Avid Isis, accelerated FTP’s, shared IT drives, and WireDrive

Musts:

  • 1-2 years experience in post-production operations, including internships experience
  • Understanding of the workflow within a marketing, production, or creative department or company
  • knowledge of Avid Media Composer, Avid Isis server, Adobe Premiere, Adobe Media Encoder, file specs and compressions codecs and current digital and broadcast video aspect ratios
  • Comfortable working with most video codecs, formats, timecode formats, and transcoding
  • Familiar with storage devices including SAN/NAS, Avid Isis, accelerated FTP’s, shared IT drives, and WireDrive
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to multitask
  • Ability to resolve technical issues that may arise
  • Strong organizational skills adaptable to changing needs and priorities
