Onward Search is looking for a Marketing Director to join our retail client, for a contract-to-hire opportunity.

We are looking for someone from a BIG BRAND who has managed and grown a team and their business. The candidate must have experience working with brands such as, or similar to Nixon, Kopari, SunBum, Billabong, Board Riders Brands, FreePeople.


  • Establishing a creative strategy and direction.
  • Managing and mentoring the creative and marketing team.
  • Working with the executive team to improve processes and tools.
  • Collaborating with other teams, like marketing, sales and customer service to ensure brand consistency.
  • Assigning teams to projects.
  • Maintaining an active list of creative contractor resources (copywriters, designers, photographers, videographers, etc.)


  • Experience growing creative and marketing teams and business.
  • Experience developing creative strategy and direction.
  • Experience managing teams, budgets, timelines, and deliverables are preferred.
  • Extensive digital and social experience.
  • Retail or Lifestyle brand experience is mandatory.
