Onward Search has a great opportunity for a Marketing Event Coordinator at a leading FinTech company located in the South Bay. The responsibility of the Marketing Event Coordinator is to create sales, lead-generation and brand awareness opportunities by effectively managing and coordinating trade-shows and events, managing all corporate collateral, and tracking marketing costs.


  • Event management – Work with marketing leadership to establish event objectives, evaluate new show/event opportunities, manage all event logistics and measure event ROI.
  • Research – Provide competitive analysis to ensure we have intelligence about our overall market, identify new prospective clients and add to database
  • Budget Tracking – On-going tracking and reporting of marketing expenditures against budget
  • Performance Monitoring – Tracking and reporting of event marketing key performance indicators

Tasks include:

  • Drive all event planning process, manage and coordinate sales and marketing requirements through all phases; pre, during and post events
  • Researching, identifying and implementing opportunities for events.
  • Planning, securing, coordinating, organizing and arranging all facets of the event. Including cost projections, vendor negotiations
  • Hands on packing/organizing of materials, prep and coordination of shipping and receiving materials
  • Booking and coordinating venue and accommodations
  • Coordinating staffing requirements and staff briefings
  • Manage all relationships with associations to ensure membership is up-to-date and NES Financial brand properly represented within associations
  • Developing and producing detailed proposals for events (e.g. timelines, venues, suppliers, staffing and budgets
  • Manage all tradeshow/event material inventories including exhibit booths, signage, banners, presentations, collateral, displays and giveaway
  • Manage hospitality events as necessary
  • Research and obtain target market contact information as necessary for job


  • Recent college graduate with marketing or business degree preferred
  • Previous work experience in event coordination or marketing program
  • Demonstrated experience in project management
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Products
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Results driven person with strong problem solving and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail, self-motivated and able to multi-task
  • Excited about working in a dynamic start-up environment


  • The client is unable to support 1099 / Corp-to-Corp or Independent Contractor arrangements at this time. All freelancers will be paid as W2 employees.
