Our client, a nationally recognized agency is looking for a Media Planner to join their team. In this role, the Media Planner will develop solutions to complex problems working with team members to plan/schedule/arrange own activities.

His position is responsible for leading media planning and buying efforts within assigned campaigns. The Digital Media Planner effectively interacts with internal and external teams across several advertising disciplines including media, account, creative, billing, and traffic.


  • Oversee assigned Assistant(s) in the development and implementation of national, regional and local traditional media campaigns that will include national and local broadcast television in traditional and direct response formats, cable television, radio, Outdoor advertising , Local newspaper and magazine (offline & online), direct mail, local events/local guerrilla marketing and more.
  • Aid in presenting recommendations, POVs and select analyses to clients and Account Service teams.
  • Utilize available traditional media planning tools (TNS, Scarborough, Media Monitors, Nielsen, Arbitron, Tactician, and Simmons), other industry research and clients’ historical media activity reports to develop media plans.
  • Coordinate projects and media requests with Account Service and assigned client contacts to determine specific advertising needs, communicating deadlines to Media Supervisor(s).
  • Monitor media campaigns having periodic campaign performance meetings internally and reporting results tothe client.
  • Work with the Buying team, providing buying specifications, monitor development and review media buys and post-buy analyses.
  • Work with Buying to put the package on an estimate and to manage the evaluation process, ensuring that the package is efficient before the client presentation.
  • Coordinate with the Buying and Account Service teams to understand current marketplace conditions, competitive spending, media and promotional opportunities and invoice approval and billing.
  • Maintain all activity, including requesting and presenting added value and regular status reports (i.e., positioning and post reports on media and added value when applicable) in a timely manner.
  • Issue insertion orders from BAP for all print/OOH/internet planned for each market.
  • Negotiate the rates and added value.


  • 2+ years media planning experience as a Junior or Mid-level Planner.
  • A four-year college degree or equivalent in Field.
  • Demonstrated presentation and writing skills.
  • Experience negotiating with and managing vendors.
  • MS Office: Internet Explorer, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience using most of the following media planning tools: TNS, Scarborough, Media Monitors, Nielsen, Arbitron, Tactician, and Simmons.
  • Experience in working with retail clients as well as agency experience is highly desirable.
