Onward Search has an exciting new opportunity for a freelance Merchandising Assistant position with one of our big clients. This position has an immediate start onsite at our client’s office in New York City. Our client is seeking an individual with a strong background in merchandising and who is capable of and excited to collaborate with others as needed. If this sounds like you, apply today!
Primarily support the Buying team and aid the Receiving teams as well as vendors in order to produce optimal results.
Create various reports for the Buying team.
Support other teams such as Apparel, Accessories, and Footwear.
Identify and implement process improvements.
Gain knowledge of buying processes and the software supporting them.
Set up new vendors.
Uphold vendor relationships and terms.
Respond timely and accurately to company and vendor questions and requests for information.
Organize, enter, and manage all purchase orders as well as process reorders, JIRA issues, RTV’s, and receiving issues.
Aid in detecting process inefficiencies and provide timely recommendations for improvements.
Provide a lending hand in other miscellaneous procedures and processes.
At least 1 to 3 years of experience in product development, research and development, or production/manufacturing (consumer durable goods highly preferred).
Proficiency in English (reading, writing, listening/speaking, comprehension).
Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Administrative support experience.
Highly organized and good at following directions.
Impeccable time management skills and ability to complete a wide range of tasks in efficient manner.
Ability to prioritize tasks.
Creativity and good eye for detail to ensure effectiveness of displays and visual presentation.
Great problem solver in unforeseen circumstances.
Eager to learn or already aware of best practices of the industry (featuring new arrivals in the front window to lure in shoppers).
