Onward Search is hiring a Mid. Level Front-End Developer for an Agency client located in north Atlanta

Job Summary:

  • The front-end developer will augment the current digital team.
  • This is a WordPress shop so we are looking for an experienced developer who has the desire to learn and grow their expertise in a fast paced environment where no two days are ever the same.
  • Our ideal candidate is someone who has a wide background, from having to do it all in a smaller shop or as a freelancer, and now is ready to take a challenge themselves by taking a step up in project size and responsibility.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work independently and with teams to develop new websites and maintain existing websites
  • Designing and implementing new features and functionality
  • Assisting in establishing and guiding the website’s architecture
  • Helping formulate an effective, responsive design and turning it into a working theme and plugin.
  • Help manage hosting for websites and other internal digital platforms
  • Flexibility and desire to help out where needed even if it’s not in the job description

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of full-time Wordpress experience including custom theme development - REQUIRED
  • Good understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery
  • Strong understanding of PHP back-end development
  • Experience building user interfaces for websites and/or web applications
  • Experience designing and developing responsive design websites
  • Experience solving common UI/UX problems when translating digital designs
  • Knowledge of design programs (Photoshop, Sketch, etc) to translate design assets from the creative staff
  • Comfortable working with debugging tools like Firebug, Chrome inspector, etc.
  • Ability to understand CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers
  • Ability to convert comprehensive layout and wireframes into working HTML pages
  • Knowledge of how to interact with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML)
  • Experience using CSS pre-processers like SASS / LESS
  • Experience with automation tools like Gulp / Grunt
  • Proficient understanding of GIT
  • Experience with managing hosting platforms, domains and DNS.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Comfortable working in a team or as a single developer on projects or in a team

Great to Haves:

  • Google Analytics experience or even better, certification
  • Google Tag Manager experience
  • Experience coding HTML emails from scratch
  • Experience with paid media - Google Ads, Facebook Ads, Bing Ads, etc…
  • Digital design background
  • SEO experience
