Onward Search is looking for a Lead-level UX Designer with deep experience and expertise in NATIVE MOBILE experience design to join our prominent corporate client in Atlanta for a long-term onsite contract opportunity! This is a W2 contract that will require 40hrs/wk onsite. Benefits are available throughout the term of the engagement.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a broad, multi-functional role and requires experience across native mobile (iOS/Android) UX design, architecture, research, and strategy.
Your primary role will be to serve as a native mobile SME for the product team and provide direction, guidance, and evangelism concerning best practices and industry standards within the native mobile space.
You will lead the development and design of information architecture, wireframes, prototypes, and similar deliverables for digital experiences for implementation in both web and mobile environments.
You will create engaging, effective user interfaces, digital assets, and visual designs in support of both enterprise and customer-facing tools, products, applications, and experiences.
This is a client-facing role and you will be asked to sit on client meetings and interact with them to better understand their creative and design needs.
You must be able to understand business requirements and technical limitations.
You must be able to interpret and apply user research, interviews, and surveys, and then translate those into sitemaps, user flows, customer journey maps, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes.
You will also be expected to design the overall functionality of product features and iterate upon it by user-testing.
This is a digital role and experience and portfolio work should be primarily if not exclusively in the digital, UX, and UI space with a focus on native mobile.
Translate concepts into user flows, wireframes, mockups and prototypes that help drive towards intuitive user experiences for use within mobile applications.
Design and deliver wireframes, user stories, user journeys, and mockups optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces.
Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions.
Make strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core, and new, functions and features.
Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate your designs.
Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.
Ask smart questions, take risks, shows initiative, and champion new ideas.
Bachelor's Degree in design, marketing, or a similar field.
7+ years of professional experience designing digital solutions for large, complex companies with a specific focus on NATIVE MOBILE UX, UI, and digital design.
Experience in native mobile UX strategy, research, and architecture are REQUIRED.
A deep understanding of best practices, industry standards, and user engagement about native mobile experiences is REQUIRED.
A strong passion for simple, innovative, elegant, engaging user experiences
Working knowledge of HTML and CSS.
Advanced knowledge of specialized creative software programs including Adobe Creative Suite/XD, Sketch, Omnigraffle, Balsamiq, InVision, and similar tools.
Ability to work within tight and aggressive deadlines.
Prior experience in UX design including wireframing, prototyping, and UX strategy.
Solid grammar and writing skills, very organized, detail-oriented, process-driven.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Ability to interface with cross-functional teams, internal clients, and all levels of leadership, including communicating with highly technical development and product teams.
Ability to work with stakeholders to understand detailed requirements and design features and experiences that meet user needs and vision.
Extensive experience in using UX design best practices to design solutions, and a deep understanding of mobile-first and responsive design.
A solid grasp of user-centered design and design thinking, planning and conducting user research, user testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis, usability and accessibility concerns.
Ability to iterate designs and solutions efficiently and intelligently.
Ability to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to teams and clients.
Ability to work effectively in a team setting including synthesizing abstract ideas into concrete design implications.
A high degree of comfort evangelizing for products and product features to teams and internal stakeholders.
Be passionate about resolving user pain points through design.
Be open to receiving feedback and constructive criticism.
Be passionate about all things UX and other areas of design and innovation. Research and showcase knowledge in the industry’s latest trends and technologies.
A clean, modern portfolio showcasing NATIVE MOBILE design work with a specific focus on UX and interface design is required at the time of submission.
