Onward Search has an awesome contract to hire opportunity for a Motion Graphics Designer with our client, a popular fashion retailer company located in San Francisco. You must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed within an open and collaborative environment.

On top of your ability to create elegant and inspiring motion designs, you are insightful and persuasive when analyzing and discussing visual design strategies with colleagues. If this sounds like you, then keep reading!


  • Partner with creative, marketing, and production teams to create videos (animation and live action) for marketing campaigns across all channels from ads, email, social media, etc.
  • Develop a point of view and a motion graphics language that fits the client’s brand and guidelines
  • Develop various videos for existing and new customers
  • Expertise creating a variety of motion design documents including mood boards, storyboards, creative briefs, motion studies, etc.


  • 3-5 years working as a Motion Graphics Artist at an agency, design shop, in-house, or similar
  • Stellar reel and portfolio
  • Deep understanding of fundamental visual design disciplines (illustration, typography, iconography, composition, color, composition, layout, etc.)
  • Proficiency with After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, and all related business and design tools; minimally, familiarity with a 3D program such as Maya, and/or Cinema 4D and an editorial program such as Final Cut or Premiere
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Strong knowledge of animation and video production principles and techniques
  • Strong visual storytelling and creative concepting experience
  • Experience in live action camera and editing is a plus


  • The client is unable to support 1099 / Corp-to-Corp or Independent Contractor arrangements at this time. All freelancers will be paid as W2 employees.
