Medscape (www.medscape.com), a division of WebMD (www.webmd.com), develops and hosts physician portals and related mobile applications that make it easier for physicians and healthcare professionals to access clinical reference sources, stay abreast of the latest clinical information, learn about new treatment options, earn continuing medical education credits and communicate with peers.
The need: An Account Manager with 3-4.5 years of Digital Campaign experience in an Advertising agency environment. The most ideal candidates come from a Pharma background, however, they are open to seeing non-pharma people.
The Account team is the client-facing arm of the organization. After a digital advertising deal is signed, this person works with the client externally and with the internal creative and development teams to set up and execute creative campaigns. This is a true hybrid account and project manager, so they are also open to people who come from a client-facing PM role.
The sell: While their titles may be a step behind that of agency people (e.g. an Account Manager at Medscape might be a Sr. AE at an agency), the pay should be relative. They have a much better work-life balance than agency people and weekend work isn’t a thing. Their internal “agency” still gives that desirable creative environment young talent is looking for.
IMPORTANT: If candidates have 5 or more years of experience, do not send. Given their need to be government compliant
Look for candidates from all of the well-known Pharma agencies like Greg Healthcare, Ogilvy, Publicis, Saatchi Health, etc.
