Our client, a multi-discipline experience design studio, is looking for a highly ambitious mid-senior level Art Director/Designer for a contract to hire opportunity.

The position:

  • Work directly with Design Directors and Architects on developing project designs
  • Contribute to the design and development of design language systems, including interaction, visuals and motion
  • Help lead design teams and liaise with external consultants and other members of the wider project teams
  • Assist with brand brainstorming sessions and mocking up design ideas for client presentations to take a project from initial idea to final output
  • Develop creative concepts according to creative brief and the client’s objectives
  • Prepare concepts for client presentations
  • Be flexible in design and able to take direction, feedback and observations with a positive attitude
  • Be able to work and liaise across all creative disciplines to produce the best response to creative briefs
  • Support junior and mid-level members of the team, providing mentorship and guidance
  • Report to and review work with the Principal
  • Review Client needs and provide ongoing support to ensure the development of solid, long-term client relationships
  • Assume daily responsibilities of communications’ design and production teams
  • Help manage resources efficiently through effective communication, ensuring profitability of the projects and the studio
  • The ideal person will be a highly creative individual with strong design skills and proven success in creating quality work at the highest level. You’ll be able express your ideas in a variety of media (print and digital) and have a good understanding of a range of experience design related issues

About you:

  • Minimum 3-8 years of experience working as a Designer, Art Director or similar within an interdisciplinary studio environment, agency, or in-house
  • In-depth understanding of visual design, experience design and motion design
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, and Apple Keynote
  • Knowledge of MS Office, QuickTime, Adobe Premiere and After Effect
  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Understanding of the design impact of product/services in physical form and appearance, sensors and interaction modes (touch, voice, gestures, etc.), screens and display (resolutions, pixel densities, aspect ratios. etc.), for personal devices and IoT
  • Must be a strong story teller and visual thinker
  • Experience leading full 360’ campaigns from concept to completion
  • Excellent knowledge of the design industry (trends, etc.)
  • Understanding of qualitative and quantitative design and marketing research findings and techniques
  • Self-starter with high degree of initiative requiring minimal supervision
  • Ability to work as part of a team, but also work independently; a team player
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task, handling several clients at one time
  • You must be able to direct other creative personnel within the studio, maintain professional relationships and be involved in reviews of studio personnel with the Principals
  • You will be able to interact with a variety of disciplines from design to production
  • Strong time management skills and ability to be self-directed when needed
  • Ability to analyze issues thoroughly and outline problems for review with Principals
  • Comfortable working well under pressure, often under critical deadlines
