Our client, a boutique creative experiential agency, is looking for a Scenic Designer for Experiential projects to join their team beginning with a brief freelance period. This role begins on-site immediately in New York City.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with team from brief stage through execution, determining opportunities for set design and necessary functions for a range of experiential events.
  • Partner closely with strategists, designers, producers and the client to bring ideas to life feasibly and on budget.
  • Lend a hand in the conceptualization and designing of event spaces, signage, user interfaces, print, etc
  • Participate in production meetings to create overall concept/aesthetic for events.
  • Work with production team to create a set that meets needs of production/fits overall concept.
  • Create ground plans, models, and renderings as necessary to illustrate design to production team.
  • Work with Technical Director to create construction drawings, schedule, and discuss budgeting.
  • Participate in set construction.
  • Discuss necessary floor props/set dressing with props manager.
  • Other tasks may apply.

Skills:

  • You have a passion for the experiential space!
  • Experience working with programs like SketchUp, Cinema4D, 3ds, CAD or Vectorworks.
  • Portfolio of well thought out design.
  • You possess a strong understanding of set design, lighting, and the elements that go into building an awesome scenic experience.
  • Ability to present ideas visually and verbally.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Self starter who can manage your own time, and work in a group.
  • Ability to travel when needed and work on-site.
  • Strong working knowledge of PowerPoint and Keynote.
  • Bachelor's degree in graphic/interior design or relevant work experience.
