UI Designer, Director Level (Hybrid on-site, NYC)

Our client, a startup e-commerce retailer for home goods is looking for a UI Designer to join their team. You will be part of the team owning the Desktop and Mobile representation of the brand. Candidates must be local to the NYC area and be open to some travel to the NJ office from time to time.

What you'll be doing:

• Construct the bile UI mockups and prototypes
• Own and create content living in the content library across iconography, buttons, micro-interactions, etc
• Represent and maintain the brand aesthetics from initiative to initiative
• Partner with internal creative and engineering teams to ensure all brand components are maintained from design through launch
• Prototype micro-interactions across desktop and mobile interfaces
• Partner with a robust team of Art Directors, UX Designers, and eCommerce managers
• Other tasks will apply

About you:

• Your portfolio represents your holistic, luxury aesthetic
• Expertise with iOS UI, Figma, how to use Jira, and the mobile eCommerce ecosystem, with fast, iterative UI prototyping
• Ideally brand side and agency side experience. Preference for brand if only one
• You have a deep understanding of typography, color, grid, and composition
• Experience with creating dashboards (My Account) and UI design patterns for shopping
• Have a proven track record of forming Interactive Design Systems for direct-to-consumer brands
• Experience developing components, patterns, guidelines, and tools to scale our site's features
