Our client, an educational association, is looking for a Production Designer to join their team for an onsite contract role for about a month.

Production Designer responsibilities:

  • Create and layout both print and digital media (web sites, mobile apps, and e-publishing) and various types of products and training materials such as text books, instructor manuals, forms, applications, certificates, packaging, logos, brochures, trademarks and other materials (production for materials in English and other languages as needed).
  • Build, maintain and release mechanicals for pre-press and digital production.
  • Work closely with design team implement changes with accuracy and speed.
  • Help maintain the asset database on server (follow protocol to storing digital files).
  • Ensure file folder structure and naming conventions are being closely followed as outlined by the creative team.
  • Double check layout specs (bleed, trim, resolution, color space and file management) to verify accuracy before committing to server.
  • Use Adobe Creative Cloud for to create layout in both print and digital media; use Adobe Digital Publishing to assist in the development of products for tablet.
  • Ensure previous versions of files are archived and saved/named on the appropriate server.

We are seeking Production Designer who meets the following requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience as a graphic designer/production artist.
  • 5+ years of experience using Adobe Creative Software on Mac.
  • Previous experience working with production work in several languages.
  • Portfolio demonstrating exceptional technical production skills.
  • Ability to manage/coordinate multiple projects; must prioritize workload to meet fast-paced deadlines.
  • Demonstrable knowledge in print production as well digital distribution production.
  • Strong knowledge of design, typography and type specification and typeface.
  • Strong understanding of color management for publishing.
  • Expert user of InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • Ability to prepare art files for final output of all types (offset, digital printing and publications).
  • Experience using a Digital Asset Management System highly preferred.
