Our client, a creative branding boutique, is looking for a Packaging Designer/Art Director to join their team.

You will report to the Creative Director and support the design team. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and competencies to fill the role. 

Responsibilities:

  • Establish the conceptual and stylistic direction for design staff and orchestrates their work, as well as production support
  • Work closely with ACD, ECD and lead creative along with clients, cultivating and maintaining these important relationships.
  • Advise on creative concepts and solutions, and ensure they are completed before all necessary deadlines
  • Adhere to project timelines, manage project scope and effectively communicate project status to internal partners
  • Provide quality control on all completed projects to ensure design quality and production accuracy
  • Lead all phases of consumer packaging work (food, beverage and home care products) including research, strategy, concept exploration, design development, and finalization
  • Identity Design
  • Brand Systems including Architecture, Guidelines, and Extensions
  • Environmental Design such as Signage, Retail Graphics/POS, and Trade Shows

Musts:

  • A self-starter with a degree in graphic design or illustration background
  • 5-6 years’ experience working as a graphic designer on large scale CPG brands, with 1-2 years specifically in Art Direction
  • Extremely proficient in all core Adobe CS programs including Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
  • Extensive knowledge of print pre-press and production
  • Exceptional typography and strong hand skills
  • Successfully manages shifting priorities, tight deadlines and last-minute requests
  • Strong communication skills, exhibits excellent attention to detail, easily builds rapport with others and excels at managing and motivating team members.
