Our client, a creative branding boutique, is looking for a Packaging Production Artist/IT Specialist to join their team. You will report to the Director of Operations and support the production team making artwork adaptation and mechanical production plus technology troubleshooting and end-user support within Apple/Mac-based fast moving creative environment.

Production responsibilities 70-80% of the time:

  • Adapting established packaging design to new sizes or variants.
  • Photo retouching, image manipulation, and product render.
  • Working with design to choose and standardize inks and color builds for printing.
  • Obtaining, understanding, and implementing print/production specifications for each job.
  • Building final mechanical files for internal review and release to vendors.
  • Verifying accuracy of copy, regulated package elements, and legal mandatories.
  • Attending pre-production meetings both internally and externally with the client and vendors.
  • Ensuring integrity of design intent throughout the production process.
  • Organizing and maintaining production files and master art as needed.
  • Communicating with vendors regarding specifications and production questions.


IT Support responsibilities 20-30% of the time:

  • Provide management and technical support for systems and networks: Apple hardware, OS X, Security devices, etc.
  • Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices.
  • Immediate address troubleshooting, repairs, and data restoration when issues arise.
  • Assist with performing maintenance activities (e.g., backups).
  • Assist with maintaining licenses and upgrade schedules.
  • Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems.


  • 5-10 years experience doing hands-on packaging production in a fast-paced, creative team environment.
  • Proficiency in the latest version of Adobe Creative Suite with a strong emphasis in Adobe Illustrator.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, excellent organizational skills and an eye for detail.
  • A deep understanding of the print process and technology is essential.
  • An analytical mind with superior diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair issues with experience working with servers and network systems.
  • Outstanding organizational skills, time management, and coordination abilities.
  • Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles.
  • Familiar with troubleshooting Adobe Suite errors around programs launches and font files.
  • A team player with secure communication and interpersonal skills, and a positive attitude.
  • May occasionally require late nights and weekends on an as needed basis.
  • Candidates who bring flexibility, a can-do attitude, and who are proactive will be most successful in this role.


  • Understanding of TCP/IP protocols, LAN/WAN configuration, and Open Directory.
  • Solid knowledge and in-depth understanding of IT systems, networks and applications.
