Onward Search is in immediate need of a Paid Search Specialist to partner with the Director of Paid Search to execute the paid search strategy to acquire new B2B customers. You will have the ability to operate on both a quantitative and qualitative level, touching all aspects of the SEM ecosystem with advanced skills in keyword management and research, campaign & ad group structuring, CPC bid strategies, competitive intelligence, text ad & landing page testing, and performance analytics.

  • Implement best practices for campaign structure, keyword research & expansion, ad copy writing, etc. to help drive continued innovation across multiple paid search accounts
  • Identify and generate reporting on KPIs & data trends; translate data into actionable insights and recommendations
  • Innovate and expand campaign strategies across Google AdWords and Bing Ads
  • Design and execute A/B tests for ad copy and landing pages to further optimize performance & user experience
  • Research and evaluate competitors using in-platform and third-party tools to find areas of opportunity
  • Proactively seek out and keep up to date on latest industry news & trends, as well as partnering with vendors to access beta programs
  • Calculate and forecast quarterly impressions, click volume, inquiries and marketing qualified leads based on existing vs. optimized conversion rates
  • Experience managing an annual budget of over seven figures
  • Manage day-to-day relationship and execution with media agency in partnership with the Director of Paid Search


  • BA/BS or equivalent working experience.
  • 3-5 years proven, hands-on experience in a paid search role.
  • Experience working with large websites a plus.
  • Strong proficiency working in Google AdWords and Bing Ad editor.
  • Core skill set in paid search campaign construction, keyword research, ad copy writing & A/B testing, with the ability to implement optimizations at scale.
  • Strong understanding of core paid search metrics – i.e., impression share, quality score, CTR, Conversion Rates, etc., and experience working on initiatives to improve them.
  • Exceptional technical and organizational skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Office – especially Excel and PowerPoint – to assist with reporting and presentations, organizing, analyzing, and evaluating data, i.e., basic graphing, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, or similar.
  • Experience reporting on ROAS metrics out of
  • Experience navigating & interpreting web analytical tools (i.e., Google Analytics) is required.
  • Exceptional project management skills and the ability to manage one’s work load efficiently.
  • Thorough understanding of audience marketing & implementation – CRM lists, Lookalikes, RLSA & display remarketing strategies a plus.
  • Experience managing day-to-day performance enhancement on bid management platforms such as Aquisio, Marin or Kenshoo a plus.
  • Experience with social ad platforms a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to direct strategy for online direct response demand generation and optimization activities, including the areas of performance display campaigns, paid social campaigns, co-op partner marketing a plus.
  • Working knowledge of digital adtech such as DSP, Ad Exchanges, Tag Management platforms, and Ad Servers a plus.


  • The client is unable to support 1099 / Corp-to-Corp or Independent Contractor arrangements at this time. All freelancers will be paid as W2 employees.
