Onward Search is hiring for a Graphic Designer! This is an 18 month long contract with health benefits included. Client is a Fortune 500 client located in Midtown.
The Graphic Designer will be responsible for developing creative content that can be used in media and print including but not limited to packaging corporate identity websites and POS. Utilizing software and hand-rendering to design products that meet the needs of the internal clients.
*Meet with clients to establish a vision for a product or design *Select colors images textures and shapes to create the layout *Select the size and arrangement of the different elements *Use computer software to create electronic versions of designs *Employ color type illustration photography animation and various print and layout techniques when designing project *Develop material for web pages *Design logos *Develop signs and environmental graphics *Create promotional displays packaging and marketing brochures *Develop the layout and production design* Meet with Sr. Graphic Designer to collaborate on design *Perform research on competitors and market trends *Submit rough drafts to client for approval *Make changes to mock-ups
*Creative flair originality and a strong visual sense strong computer skills confidence to present and explain ideas to clients and colleagues *Expert level knowledge in graphics and typography ability to develop design concepts that fit the clients needs *Ability to present options for design treatments ability to finalize designs working within established visual identity timelines and budgets deadline *Graphic design input is required for a huge variety of products and activities including:websites packaging & print mediums (magazine OOH newspaper POS) *Corporate visual identity and brand standards *Advertising exhibitions and displays
Tasks are likely to include:finding out about the project requirements (taking a brief) *Estimating the time the project will require *Coming up with design concepts that fit the clients need *presenting options for design treatments *Creating final designs working to a deadline and budget *Amending designs according to the clients final comments *Proofreading and preparing designs to be sent to print.
Designers may use different media e.g. photography and illustration to get the results they want to *Graphic designers will take briefs from an account manager who has responsibility for client contact in most cases however there will be times when the Graphic Designer will deal directly with internal clients.
Designers also have to work closely with other colleagues involved in projects such as copywriters photographers creative managers etc.
