Product Development Specialist (Accessories)

Onward Search needs a Product Development Specialist (Accessories) for an outdoor retail company.

This is a 6 month+ contract opportunity that is hybrid onsite in Denver, CO. 

As a Product Development Specialist (Accessories) you’ll: 

• Manages the development of company product lines by overseeing the planning and tracking of product development schedules, ensuring timely completion according to established timelines.
• Guarantees technical excellence and product quality by making recommendations on materials, construction techniques, and fit guidance that align with design expectations and margin goals as outlined in Product Management briefs.
• Ensures the consistent achievement of fit intent and fit standards through thorough analysis, documentation, communication, and adherence to established fit criteria.
• Takes responsibility for creating specifications and technical packages for designated products, and communicates all necessary records for sampling and production to factory partners.
• Collaborates with Product Management, Design, Materials, VFA Sourcing/Costing, Vendors, and other cross-functional teams to ensure that accuracy, integrity, fit, and pricing align with the brand's direction.

Skills & Experience needed:  

• Showcases an advanced level of expertise in the product category, materials, and construction, enabling effective leadership in fitting, product reviews, and adherence to project timelines.
• Exemplifies a keen attention to detail and possesses strong communication skills, excelling in interpersonal interactions.
• Demonstrates a proactive approach to troubleshooting and resolving highly intricate issues.

Success is characterized by:

• The capacity to autonomously oversee Accessories development and manage organizational tools without requiring guidance or input from a manager.
• The establishment of trust and productive working relationships with members of cross-functional teams.
• Enhancing product integrity and fit through agile problem-solving approaches.
