This position is responsible for implementing and managing a portfolio of our Ann Arbor area client’s products and services for their target audience. This person is primarily accountable for all specialty pricing products program coordination, achievement and tracking of financial targets and market share growth. This position is also responsible for implementing the goal setting process and marketing of existing and new products and services to their customers and supporting efforts in the research and analysis of these programs to grow profitable sales while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction. This position will be responsible for managing vendor partners and ensuring a close working relationship between the vendor partners and internal company areas. Additionally, the position will be responsible for managing customer issues, serving as a source to solve customer issues associated with the assigned products. This position will engage, lead and motivate a cross-functional team in planning, developing growth channels, and promoting products.

Job Requirements:

  • Education: Four-year degree desired. Marketing, Communications, or Business preferred
  • Knowledge of GPC customer base, rates & riders, corporate functions, financial indicators, and marketing regulatory issues
  • 3-5 years of marketing experience through program or product management desirable, including product development, implementation, and lifecycle management; preferably in a B2C environment
  • Strong entrepreneurial skills with the ability to think outside the box
  • Strong analytical skills; able to analyze spreadsheets and simplify communications for widespread messages
  • Understanding of pricing, packaging and bundling solutions as well as unregulated product / pricing decisions
  • Understanding of financial techniques for evaluating net income, present value, cash flows and return on investment
  • Effective at understanding cross-functional dependencies and building and leveraging internal and cross-functional relationships and expertise to achieve goals
  • Work well under pressure and successfully operate in a competitive environment with specific profit and loss expectations
  • Must be able to quickly grasp information on their business including knowledge of the customer base, customer service operations, corporate functions, financial indicators, marketing regulatory issues and end-use products and technologies
  • Able to effectively manage vendor partnerships for execution of marketing campaigns

Job Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of the product portfolio and accountability for its success and growth
  • Responsible for goal setting and channel allocation, monitoring key performance indicators, and achieving all product performance goals
  • Solicit ideas, assess data, interpret customer research and make product-oriented recommendations Project team leadership and internal coordination
  • Organize and lead cross-functional teams including Pricing and Rates, Customer Service, Corporate Communication, Finance, Legal, Policy, SCS Analytics, and external marketing vendors to administer and successfully implement products
  • Work with appropriate segment manager, market intelligence and appropriate product development managers to share customer intelligence, meaningful industry insights (goals, mandates, leadership or policy changes, etc.), and potential bundling opportunities to assist with creating and implementing the company’s strategic plan in the market

Multi-channel and mass marketing:

  • Effective use of new sales methodologies such as digital marketing, direct mail, cross sell/upsell and partnering with customer service resources to reach targeted customers
  • Leverage market intelligence and technology to innovatively offer products to customers
  • Effectively coordinate and expand all sales channels (especially Customer Service and Corp Comm) for products, and third-party organizations, if applicable Product development, implementation and lifecycle management
  • Manage the development and implementation of new products / services related directly to the assigned product line, including bundling and / or product extensions, if applicable
  • Manage product life cycle to include conceptualization, development and execution of marketing campaigns, back-office administration, vendor management, customer service and reporting
  • Effectively develop and manage the product’s roadmap, including all product enhancements and modifications required to meet performance objectives over the lifecycle of the product

  • The client is unable to support 1099 / Corp-to-Corp or Independent Contractor arrangements at this time. All freelancers will be paid as W2 employees.
