A Public Relations department of national healthcare organization is seeking a SR MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST to contract through February and possibly convert to fulltime. This role consults and provides pr related communication strategies, plans and programs for internal and external needs.

SKILLS:

  • Create plans that link the organizations goals with communication objectives, messaging, strategies
  • This role fosters media relations including crisis situations
  • Create key messaging and ways to communicate about specific programs and issues
  • Act as spokesperson to internal and external audiences at times
  • Researches, writes, edits for internal and external publications and other communication documents
  • Serves as lead editor for area-wide publications
  • Provides mentoring/coaching to public affairs staff as needed
  • Develops training materials
  • Oversees freelancers as needed

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years internal and external communication experience for a corporation, agency or healthcare setting
  • BA in PR, communications or journalism
  • PREFER Masters
  • Experience with media and all modes of communication available including print, broadcast and digital media
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to manage projects
  • Include organizations objectives with communication planning
  • Able to work with Labor/Management Partnerships
  • Social Media experience preferred
  • Experience working with senior leadership in a corporate setting
