Our client, a Manufacturing company, based in Marion North Carolina is seeking a Quality Engineer to join them onsite for a contract engagement. This position offers the potential to extend and possibly convert to a perm opportunity, however not guarenteed.

Promote Health & Safety:

  • Accountable for compliance with all Health and Safety federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations
  • Promotes Safety at all times with a strong safety presence on the plant floor
  • Promotes an approach of doing the right thing both in internal and external interactions

Customer Support:

  • Accountable for reducing and avoiding customer complaints
  • Analyze failure at customer level
  • Visit customers to better understand their requirements and help solve their problems
  • Manage Teams to address serious issues using standard methodology such as 8D

Improve Processes:

  • Accountable for reducing the cost of poor quality
  • Determine cost of quality and develop project plans to reduce the cost
  • Ensure control plans derived from PFMEA are implemented, results analyzed, and improvement actions drawn up
  • Assess the capability of the processes to meet the customers’ requirements
  • Promote the use of six sigma as a tool for analysis and process improvement

Implementation of New Products:

  • Take accountability for implementation of Coats Industrialization Development Plan (CIDP) for new products introduced in either plant, working closely with Global Quality Team
  • Manufacturing background
  • Experience of working in the quality function of a Tier 1 supplier to the automotive or aerospace industry
  • Experience of working in industries supplying the automotive or aerospace industries with either textile or composite products
  • Advanced interpersonal relationship skills at a variety of levels and greatly differing social and business settings.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Strong project management capability
  • Demonstrated ability to focus on and achieve objectives in a timely manner
  • Extensive knowledge of Lean Six Sigma manufacturing tools

(BONUS SKILLS):

  • MBA
  • Textile Engineering background
  • Industrial Engineering background
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
  • Knowledge of SAP
