Onward Play is looking for a Senior Level Designer to help create balanced multiplayer levels for an upcoming AAA physics based racing game.
The job:
You’ll be working on the level design for a AAA quality physics-based racing game
Design innovative and balanced multiplayer levels
You’ll be responsible for testing level designs against player move set, combat abilities, and player skill level
Create engaging level design that’s has high replayability
You’ll be working with environment artists to develop and deliver against the product vision
You’ll be responsible for the technical mechanics of the driving aspect, physics of the cars and the way the game feels and drives.
Work closely with production to manage development schedules, bug tracking, studio initiatives, and overall team health and morale
Requirements:
Strong knowledge of level design principles, theories, and contemporary game trends
At least 2 AAA titles shipped on console or PC. 3rd person perspective driving or kart type games highly desirable.
Expert in all aspects of level design including documentation, greyboxing, and implementing interactive objects
Highly skilled in use of sightlines, opened vs constrained spaces, and balanced player cognitive load
Recent and substantial experience with dynamic level layouts and fair hazards in a PvP environment
5+ years of experience
Solid understanding of UE4 and Blueprint
Bachelor’s Degree in Game Design or equivalent practical experience
