Technical Program Manager

Onward Search needs a Technical Program Manager for one of our FinTech customers on a contract basis working remotely in Pacific Standard Time.

Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated IT Program Manager to oversee a comprehensive range of IT programs, encompassing multiple projects. As the IT Program Manager, you will play a pivotal role in formulating program strategy, crafting robust business cases, and meticulously planning project execution. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the successful delivery of all projects within the IT project portfolio, adhering to timelines, budgets, and strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Program Leadership: Develop a clear program strategy and business case, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Maintain a holistic view of program integration, adjusting project scope, timelines, and budgets as needed to meet evolving business needs.
2. Stakeholder Communication: Foster open communication channels with IT leadership and senior business executives to articulate program direction, strategy, and any relevant changes.
3. Strategic Alignment: Collaborate closely with senior leadership to identify and prioritize opportunities for leveraging IT to advance enterprise objectives.
4. Efficient Project Management: Enhance the efficiency of project management processes, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk assessment. Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks.
5. Team Management: Lead and manage teams consisting of multiple project managers, project leaders, and support staff, ensuring cohesion and alignment with program goals.
6. Performance Monitoring: Regularly monitor, measure, and report project status to IT leadership and senior business management. Oversee multiple cross-functional teams and projects across diverse locations, tracking product requirements, key tasks, deliverables, dependencies, and milestones throughout the project lifecycle.
7. Project Planning: Create and maintain comprehensive project schedules and management plans, accounting for dependencies and constraints.
8. Change Management: Implement effective change management strategies to control scope, quality, schedule, cost, and contracts in line with established plans.
9. Data Management: Ensure accurate and up-to-date program information by populating the program management information system, facilitating informed decision-making by stakeholders.
10. Process Optimization: Continuously assess existing processes and provide recommendations for streamlining and enhancing efficiency.

• Education: A degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Experience: Demonstrated proficiency in project lifecycles, scheduling, risk management, and conflict resolution techniques. Proficiency in risk and issue management is essential for success in this role.
