Our client, a top insurance company is looking for a Digital Product Owner to join their Digital Product Management team for 6 month - 1 year contract.

The team is responsible for setting the product strategy based on various inputs, including: partner needs, market research/trends, user insights, and data analytics. We maintain the feature roadmap and ensure user stories are clearly written and backlogs are prioritized, while acting as the liaison between business and engineering/delivery teams.

As the Digital Product Owner, telematics mobile apps, you will partner with the Digital Product Manager to understand the overall vision and strategy for the product or products. You will also translate this vision into features and capabilities, working with their scrum team to deliver from inception to launch.


  • Ensures well-written user stories, defines acceptance criteria, and helps define and document testing requirements
  • Prioritizes the backlog for one or more scrum teams based on the product roadmap, technical product requirements (upgrades etc.) and product defects
  • Synthesizes user research, product analytics, and market data to help the product team make well-informed product decisions
  • Ensures the business rules/logic associated with a product are documented and maintained
  • Demos product capabilities to gain alignment
  • Partners with UX to deliver wireframes, prototypes and other design artifacts by providing clear business direction in the form of user flows, requirements or user stories
  • Engages with business stakeholders to refine requirements (legal, insurance product etc.)
  • Troubleshoots issues with external vendors and internal technology partners
  • Supports and helps define the operational activities within the organization as needed
  • Plays an integral role in release planning, post-release production validation, and release communication
  • Acts as the liaison between the Product Manager and engineering/delivery teams, representing the needs of the business while championing the end user
  • Is a product SME: Understands business rules/logic associated with their product’s features and ensures they are documented and maintained, determines the appropriate user research activities, defines product KPIs and maintains and reports out on product analytics on an ongoing basis, and regularly seeks out market data to develop points of view and make well-informed product decisions
  • Works closely and collaboratively with other teams in the Digital Hub organization as well as other IT Applications teams to implement the solutions defined in the roadmap, wherever possible leveraging Lean Startup and Agile Development to iteratively deliver capabilities to the market with speed and efficiency
  • 3+ years of previous product management experience, including at least 1 year of digital product management in complex, matrixed organizations with cross-functional partners
  • Engineering or other technical degree or BA/BS degree in Business, User Experience, Human Factors, related degree, or equivalent work experience desirable
  • Understanding of all facets of effective human-centered design and user experience, including: strategy, experience/interaction design, user research, visual design and metrics
  • Adept systems thinker who is able to elicit and communicate understanding of the variables that impact business unit performance
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization; this includes written and verbal communication as well as visualizations
  • Standout colleague able to work effectively at all levels of an organization with the ability to influence others and move toward consensus
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to think creatively and to drive innovation
