Onward Search has an exciting opportunity for a stellar freelance Copywriter with a branding and design agency. As a Copywriter, you will be work across both Product and Marketing. The ideal candidate has ample experience writing clear, descriptive copy for websites and apps, as well as a history of delivering compelling and motivating copy for ads, creative concepts, taglines, and video scripts. This role requires someone who can balance multiple assignments at one time, and who can seamlessly collaborate across various teams and stakeholders.

This is a part time (20+ hours a week, but hours may vary depending on business) 2-4 week freelance opportunity located in the Peninsula that kicks-off ASAP.


  • Writing and editing concise, well-crafted copy for websites and apps to help consumers through the home-buying (and renting) experience
  • Write content for ads, creative concepts, taglines, and video scripts
  • Writing occasional social content and e-mail marketing campaigns
  • Helping shape product messaging for new features across our sites and apps


  • 3-5 years working as a copywriter at in agency, in-house, or similar
  • Strong portfolio!
  • Understanding of residential real estate and consumer tech/app friendly is a plus!
  • Significant experience developing marketing/advertising copy
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Comfort asking questions and tracking down answers
  • Can work well independently, or can collaborate with others when necessary
  • Strong attention to detail and experience working under deadline
  • Embodies customer empathy and is passionate about helping people find a home they’ll love


  • The client is unable to support 1099 / Corp-to-Corp or Independent Contractor arrangements at this time. All freelancers will be paid as W2 employees.
  • In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire.
