Onward Search has an exciting opportunity for a Graphic Designer with a leading bike sharing company in the Bay Area. This role will help build the company’s early design and brand presence, and is essential to developing and executing the overall marketing roadmap. You will be responsible for leading and delivering core marketing assets across all mediums and markets, and achieving key success goals as we develop deep customer loyalty through compelling and brand-aligned campaigns.

This is a contract to hire opportunity that kicks off this month!


  • Work with leadership to synthesize business, marketing and user needs into eloquent, minimal, and delightful design experiences
  • Participate in and lead design initiatives and campaigns that further the Marketing and Partnerships team's goals
  • Deliver hi-fidelity designs to production spec across all mediums: print, digital (social/ads)
  • Help develop and iterate marketing and branding guidebooks
  • Stand for, hold, and grow the company’s brand guidelines
  • Mentor and collaborate with other team members and fellow designers


  • 3+ years of professional design experience (ideally, post formal training)
  • Extensive experience using modern design tools (Adobe suite, Sketch, InVision, etc.)
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating repeatable design process that results in simple and intuitive marketing campaigns, clear user education, and drives social engagement
  • Alacrity developing online ads, gifs, videos, web pages, banners, and more
  • Good understanding of web technologies (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery)
  • Coding proficiency to manage web and email markup (HTML, CSS some JavaScript)
  • Marketing and Advertising background a plus, same with previously startup experience


  • The client is unable to support 1099 / Corp-to-Corp or Independent Contractor arrangements at this time. All freelancers will be paid as W2 employees.
  • In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire.
