Our client, a mortgage and real-estate start-up, is Head of Design/Lead Designer with 7+ years of experience

This is an awesome opportunity to be the 1st designer, with an all-star founding team! The candidate needs to have substantial experience designing and shipping web applications (not just websites). The company just hired a Head of Engineering, and they’re needing an equally strong Head of Design to work in tandem.

Experience

  • Experience in FinTech and/or working on B2B or B2B2C SaaS products is important.
  • Has led other designers in a team lead role. Needs to demonstrate that they were the decision maker of the group.
  • Ideally has managed other designers, but is still hands-on. (Some design manager candidates might have had great past experience, but are no longer hands-on.)
  • Have led their own customer/user research, both via explorations and via usability studies.
  • Show artifacts like wireframes, flow charts, whiteboard sessions in addition to process and problem descriptions.

Bonus Points

  • Experience in mortgage is a nice to have
  • Have gone through the process of buying a home and getting a loan first hand.
