Onward Search is on the hunt for a Mid-level Product/UI/UX Designer to join our Beauty/ Retail client for a long-term contract position that starts immediately.

This person will be joining a team of a UX Researcher, Principal UI/UX Designer, and 3 UI Designers. S/he will be the beginning of a new team build out over the next few months focused on centralizing the UI/UX responsibilities for the organization. They will be enhancing and creating new designs for their user’s experience for web, mobile, and Omni-channel. The ideal candidate will be a hybrid designer who can design both the user interface and user experience. S/he will also partially be responsible for contributing to the strategy and vision for the future of our client. This person will be reporting to the Senior Director, User Experience.


  • 4+ years of experience as Product Designer or UI/UX Designer in a “hybrid” type role for complex and high visibility products.
  • Focused on both the User Interface and User Experience aspects of Design
  • Proven focus on “customer storytelling” and designing to enhance the customer’s journey.
  • Experience working alongside a team of UI/UX/Product Designers.
  • Experience with design tools: Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, InVision, OmniGraffle, etc.
  • Experience creating wireframes, prototyping, and high fidelity mock-ups.
  • Portfolio with clean, simple, and fashionable designs geared to a defined target audience.
  • Collaborative team contributor + funny and friendly personality!

Bonus Points:

  • eCommerce/Retail.
  • Native Mobile App (iOS preferred/Android OK).
