Global Retail Client in NYC is seeking a Security Operations Manager to join them for a 3-month Contract-to-PERM Engagement in downtown NYC.

Job Description

  • Lead and manage the Security Operations Team
  • Lead operational projects specific to the IT security team, while acting as a security subject matter expert (SME) for other IT infrastructure and eCom projects
  • Primary responsibility is security event monitoring, management, and response
  • Ensure incident identification, assessment, quantification, reporting, communication, mitigation, and monitoring
  • Revise and develop processes to strengthen the current Security Operations Framework, review policies and highlight the challenges in managing SLAs
  • Work with the application and solution teams to secure SaaS applications including assisting in the overall architecture and design of the solution and supporting components
  • Help design and develop security architectures for AWS
  • Champion a DevOps security model so that security is automated and elastic across all platforms
  • Perform threat management, threat modeling, identify threat vectors and develop use cases for security monitoring
  • Design, coordinate and oversee security testing procedures to verify the security of systems, networks, and applications, and manage the remediation of identified risks
  • Provide technical expertise in the review of third-party information security controls as part of our Vendor Management Committee security matters for other I&T projects and the administration of security tools

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience, in positions of increasing responsibility, in Information Security risk assessments, cybersecurity operations, threat and vulnerability management, security architecture, or cybersecurity incident response
  • 4+ years of demonstrated experience with Cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Expertise in Cybersecurity organization practices, operations, risk management processes, principles, architectural requirements, engineering and threats, and vulnerabilities, including incident response methodologies, tactics, and strategy to protect, detect, respond and recover from attacks
  • Experience with compliance and regulatory frameworks such as PCI, SOX, GDPR, etc.
  • Functional knowledge of Identity and Access Management, Segregation of Duties and Role-Based Management
  • Scripting and automation proficiency with languages such as Python and PowerShell and expertise with AWS lambda functions
  • Experience with assessment, development, implementation, optimization, and documentation of a comprehensive and broad set of security technologies
  • Experience with automation and processes of secure software development (Application Security) and cloud-based SIEM solutions
  • Dev tools experience (GitHub, Terraform, Jenkins, Kubernetes, etc.)
  • In-Depth OS Experience (RHEL, Windows)
  • Recognized expertise in the implementation of security in dev-ops via CI/CD frameworks
  • Technical knowledge of techniques, standards and state-of-the-art capabilities for authentication and authorization, cryptography, security vulnerabilities, and remediation is preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience in web-related technologies (Web applications, Web Services, Service-Oriented Architectures) and of network/web related protocols
  • Understanding of the system hardening processes, tools, guidelines, and benchmarks.
  • Understanding of OWASP standards and how to integrate into daily coding activities
