Our client, a creative experiential agency, is seeking an Art Director/ACD to join their team.

You will report to the Creative Director and be responsible for:

  • Be the first creative line of defense who understands the brief and guides team subjectively during the creative process.
  • Last line of defense assuring what the Creative Team is presenting deliverables in an innovative way and is meeting all parameters of brief including budget, timing, consumer reaction, metrics, brand positioning, etc.
  • Leading the Creative Team to bring out the best in them, pushing that they do their best work, push ideas and be risk takers.
  • Have a clear creative vision while remaining open to opportunities as well as opposition.
  • Speak to the innovative solutions in an intelligent and strategy-based way directing creative in a way that allows for true collaboration while assuring designs are on-track with brief and client expectations. Guide teams until concept come to life in a clear, understandable and memorable way.
  • Give ideas and allow the team room to breathe and grow. Break concepts down, let them build up naturally, so they are stronger. Assure ideas have a real rationale and strategic thinking.
  • Assure that the quality of creative is aligned with agency expectations and reputation.
  • Ask questions, seek clarity, start to build a framework for Creative Team to flesh out concepts.
  • Be aware of the job parameters such as timelines and budgets, give teams rough hours to work within for each stage of the job.
  • Facilitate and guide collaborative sessions with Creative Team.
  • Work closely with Client Partner/Project Manager to understand the brief and assure Creative is delivering.
  • Work with the Client Partner and Client to steer the vision for a brand and assure the messaging of the brand is communicating the Brand Values and Brand Promise.
  • Maintain a masterful knowledge of the Client’s Brand positioning and their consumer and/or audience.


  • 5-10 years as an agency design-based creative with experiential experience.
  • “Hands-on” working creative with excellent problem-solving, collaborative and design skills.
  • Comfortable ideating/concepts with core Creative Team members as well as “tag-teaming” projects with other designers/art directors.
  • Stay abreast of trends while not allowing them to drive creative in a way that is without content, concept or driven by style.
  • Must clearly and concisely communicate both written and verbal what is working/not working and why. Ask questions, listen and expect the best work possible.
  • Maintain a historical knowledge of how the Brand has shape-shifted and evolved.
  • Make sure presentations are built so that they bring the client masterfully along to how you got there. Ironclad build-up so the concept seems like the obvious solution.
  • Listen to client feedback carefully and understand the intent and motivations of specific changes, ask questions, be empathetic.
  • Comfortable giving clients the tools they need to “sell the concept up” internally.
  • Able to present work with genuine excitement and conviction. Must be able to sell the idea through and build client confidence.
