Onward Search is seeking a SR FRONT END WEB DEVELOPER for a full time position with a thriving agency. You will maintain applications and websites using JavaScript frameworks and working closely with the internal ux & design teams to establish style guides and component libraries. This position will allow you to mentor and oversee junior developers and collaborate with other sr developers.


  • Responsible for building websites, landing pages, web applications and microsites
  • Open and able to interact with clients and internal teams effectively
  • Knowledge of WGAG compliance, and authoring code
  • Thrives on details
  • 5+ years of experience in development
  • Strong understanding of UX best practices & principles as they relate to FED
  • Functional and object-oriented JavaScript/ES6+ proficiency
  • Node.js and Express development and design
  • Experience with React & other frameworks
  • Proficient with React and exposure to other frameworks
  • Experience with modular web design, living style guides, and CSS preprocessing
  • Proficient with building animations for the web, leveraging CSS, JavaScript, and hybrid solutions
  • Can speak with authority on web standards for performance, accessibility, security, and SEO
  • Experience configuring and maintaining build tools (gulp/Node.js)
  • Confidence in managing source code with Git
  • Builds modular, flexible solutions
  • Authors clean, well-structured, well-documented, and reusable code
  • Articulate, detail-oriented communication skills
  • Stays abreast of new technology and development trends to provide strategic, creative, and technical solutions agencywide and to our clients
  • Agency experience
  • Experience working with popular CMS platforms: WordPress, Drupal, or equivalent
  • Experience working in an Agile environment, using Jira
  • Experience leveraging JavaScript for mobile and desktop development (React Native/Electron)
  • Experience managing and mentoring fellow developers
