Onward Search is looking for a Senior Project Coordinator to join our Fortune 500 client for an onsite contract-to-hire opportunity! Benefits are available during the contract period.

Job Summary:

  • The primary focus for the role is working with the program management office (PMO) team to review, consolidate, and synthesize project workstream activities (status, risks, issues etc.)
  • Coordinate with and take direction from both the Project Lead/Project Manager to ensure:
    • All project activities/outputs align with strategic objectives, deliverables, schedules, business case & expectations;
    • All project documentation and plans is organized, managed & properly distributed
  • Work with Project Manager/Project Lead to coordinate, plan, update, and conduct status reviews with internal clients.
  • Support Project Manager/Project Lead to ensure project output meets program expectations
  • Facilitate all project planning & execution of PM activities
  • Utilize defined PM processes & tools appropriate for projects.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assists the Project Manager/Project Lead in the management of project lifecycles including project scope, schedule, initiation, start-up/design, building/deployment of projects from beginning to end.
  • Assists the Project Manager/Project Lead in the PM artifacts & proper use throughout project such as project charter, project plan, RACI, risk/issue identification and mitigation, status report development; updates appropriate PM artifacts, as needed.
  • Assists Project Manager/Project Lead with documenting/reviewing deliverables to ensure quality
  • Assists Project Manager/Project Lead with PM activities related to scope, funding, cost plans, planned vs. actual expense, etc
  • Must have knowledge of PM discipline with emphasis on effective use of PM soft skills essential to his/her success
  • Assists Project Manager/Project Lead with communications, scheduling meetings, conference rooms, WebEx, etc
  • Assists Project Manager/Project Lead with providing internal/external customers & stakeholders thorough responses to problem resolution

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred; specific related experience, training, or certifications may be substituted.
  • 1-3 years of professional project management experience, preferably in a large, complex corporate environment.
  • Able to plan several weeks in advance to coordinate efforts & manage a project.
  • Experience/expertise with commercial PM software (i.e. MS Project, MS Office, MS SharePoint, etc) & ability to learn internal project website & other tools.
  • Experience with web-based remote meeting applications (i.e. Skype, Zoom, WebEx, etc).
  • Intermediate PM knowledge, skill, and experience. Specific attention to communication, time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • PM certification (PMI CAPM, Agile, LEAN Certified, Lean Six Sigma, etc.) preferred.
