Onward Search is looking for a Senior Project Manager to contract at one of our TOP Agency clients in Old Fourth Ward! We are looking for a highly motivated, hardworking, risk taker who can be the go to contact to guarantee things get done. You will need to be able to excel in a fast paced environment while creating structure to ensure things run smoothly starting with your team and their individual roles to meeting deadlines and completing projects. In this role you will be expected to be able to communicate with senior leasers and members of other departments as well as working with clients to understand their needs and how your team can make them happen. You will be expected to not only identify risks but also communicate them with the team to make sure you can overcome them early in the process.
Partner with Account Managers, Department Leads and delivery experts to ensure that the projects are realistically scoped based on the agency’s skills, resources and capacity
Ability to provide project data in a meaningful and actionable format that highlights risks
Ability to work with Department Leads to ensure that capacity is maximized given the pipeline of work and or with agency priorities.
Support Account Management & Dept. Leads in the development of estimates by providing guidance on past project staff plans, timelines, risks and assumptions.
Serve as the primary collaborator with Account Management and Dept. Leads for all Level One project ball parking and scope development as well as Net new business.
Key role in reviewing and signing off on all project scopes written by AM and approved by Dept. Heads and ensure that they are properly entered in financial system.
Approve all project plans for all projects written by Project Manager’s, Scrum Masters or video producers.
Work with delivery team to manage all workflow through the agency and highlight risks to AM and Dept. Leads when escalation is required.
Directly manage the Creative Delivery PM(s) to ensure the following…
-Project plans are written and being followed
-Project Team communication is healthy & PM/AM partnership is defined and clear
-Project Risks are being communicated and escalated
-Project profitability targets are being achieved
Dotted line management of Tech Scrum Manager to ensure smooth integration and hand off of creative assets for technology
Dotted line management of PR-editor resource to ensure smooth integration and hand off of creative assets for video
Run weekly QVA Project health reports and highlight projects at risk for the Account and PM team for mitigation or correction along with Bi-weekly run an Acct. & Delivery meeting to review these projects.
Manage in partnership with SVP of Account Management, and VP of Operations the twice annual review of our Project Health report detailing Departmental delivery health – July & January Project Health Review.
Assign and monitor work with internal resources as needed for projects initiated by AM
Weekly issue staff utilization reports to the Senior team for Dept. management and have a ready list of agency projects/initiatives for filler when billable work ebbs.
Serve as the Agency Process Blueprint and Work Flow owner and manage the quarterly reviews/optimization and Slack channel for problem solving.
Oversee the management of process tools
Five to eight years of experience in advertising/marketing
knowledge of agency project/traffic management as well as experience with traditional, digital and social media projects.
Bachelor’s degree required – Business, Marketing, or Advertising discipline preferred
Solid track record of successfully managing projects from start to completion and experience with agency management software
Deep understanding of technical development process, e.g. agile, scrum as well as steps in the QA process.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication skills – verbally, written and listening.
Excellent organizational and time management skills; detail-oriented
Must be a team player
Must have the ability to motivate a wide-range of talent/resources
Excellent problem-solving skills – must have a focus on driving results
MS Office experience – project management software a plus
