Onward Search is on the hunt for a Senior UI Designer to join the Ecommerce team of our start-up fashion client. You will report to the Director of Product Management and will be responsible for creating and communicating concepts, implementing strategies, and developing interactive design solutions.
Own communication and negotiation of critical path and scope with team members, collaborating with team leads
Lead a project or group of projects with limited input
Continually explore opportunities to enhance and improve methodologies and design
Lead and support the development of junior designers to ensure continuous team progress
Initiate and manage multiple projects with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Contribute to the design and maintenance of a comprehensive visual framework to establish consistent aesthetics
Deliver and maintain documentation for all the visual standards and guidelines
Work with UX copywriters, product managers, and engineering teams to ensure visual integrity
Researching and designing compelling and feasible interactions that delight end-users and customers
Provide product design insights through innovative research methodologies
Skills & Experience:
5-7 years of experience as a Visual Designer, UI Designer, Art Director, or similar in the apparel/eCommerce industry
Deep knowledge of information architecture, usability, and UI/UX Design
Fluency in prototyping and wireframing
Front end development skills or at least familiarity with front end dev
A portfolio that includes specific examples of visual design work reflecting design thinking, process, teamwork, and customer impact
Informed set of core values regarding user experience, technology, and business communication, and the ability to present them eloquently
Cultural awareness allowing you to effectively communicate with a diverse global audience
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to influence change through inspirational design, rationale, supporting data, and diplomacy
Experience working with technical teams to deliver high-quality designs
High attention to detail, able to manage multiple projects and deliverables across different teams and organizations in a fast-paced environment
