Our Client in McLean, Va is seeking a Social Media Copywriter to join their team.

Day to Day:

  • Understands that the creative brief is a unifying document that identifies the important key benefits for a campaign or launch and is essential for answering the “why”
  • Develops fantastic creative concepts and fresh social media posts, content, stories, and blogs
  • An acute understanding of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snap Chat, Pinterest, LinkedIn and YouTube platforms
  • Understands the goal(s), audience, and message of a campaign and can create short-form copy and content across all social media platforms
  • Ensures all content is on-brand, consistent in terms of personality, tone of voice, style, quality, and is optimized for ultimate user experience
  • Maintains a strong understanding of marketing, story-telling and advertising principles
  • Researches, writes, edits, and proofs all levels of copy produced by the team and cross-functioning teams
  • Maintains awareness of the latest industry trends in social media, digital, print, and broadcast
  • Becomes a part of an innovative, results-oriented culture that promotes openness, teamwork, mutual trust, positivity, and respect

Job Requirements:

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills
  • Can think creatively, strategically, and deliver tactically
  • Ability to adapt writing style to fit the brand’s voice, tone, and audience
  • A persuasive and confident approach to creativity
  • Technical knowledge and understanding of social media platforms
  • A strong portfolio that includes exceptional copy examples for social, digital campaigns, print, and broadcast
  • The understanding that copy and design support each other and truly tell a compelling story together
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Great presentation skills, both internally and client-facing that express your ideas clearly
  • Experience in creating best-in-class content using words and images to engage core audiences
  • Effective and efficient project management and organization skills
  • The ability to manage multiple deadlines and content schedules
  • Ability to improve quality results by evaluating and identify work process improvements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or military experience
  • At least 5 years of work experience specializing in communications and creative writing
  • At least 5 years of work experience writing copy for social media, digital, print, and multimedia brand experiences
  • At least 5 years of work experience with Microsoft software for Mac (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • At least 3 years of work experience with social media platform features, functionality, and ad units

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 years of brand and agency experience in a Copywriter role
  • Financial industry experience
  • A marketing and advertising ink slinger, magician, and word wizard
  • A brand word wrangler and message whisperer
  • Someone who can connect with the team and our target audiences
  • The writer of all things

  • The client is unable to support 1099 / Corp-to-Corp or Independent Contractor arrangements at this time. All freelancers will be paid as W2 employees.
