Onward Search is looking to fill a Social Marketing Supervisor for one of our clients.

The Social Marketing Supervisor is selected and placed in the position by the Social Marketing Director and Chief Interactive Officer. This position works under General Direction, providing an overview of the result; work is completed unsupervised. Incumbent uses independent judgment and discretion to accomplish tasks. Plans/schedules/arranges own activities. Has considerable latitude of discretion and judgment within scope of the position.

The Social Marketing Supervisor is accountable for building social strategies and programs that are part of a more extensive, integrated, retail program that is focused on meeting overall Client business goals. They are responsible for recommending social programs, facilitating content development and messaging being communicated via Social Media Networks, blogosphere and new digital media platforms, as well as reporting on the success of the Social Media Strategy.

  • Anticipate Client(s) needs, and work with the Social Marketing Director to keep the Agency in the position of leading
  • Develop and distribute weekly/monthly campaign reports
  • Track campaign performance with actionable optimization recommendations
  • Maintain daily contact with internal Account Management as well as other internal departments
  • Keep Account Management informed of Client relations
  • Participate in needed client meetings/briefing sessions
  • Work directly with traditional Account Management teams for the inclusion and consideration of social strategies and tactics in marketing efforts and campaigns
  • Develop strategies and tactical recommendations for clients’ social media campaigns
  • Manage the preparation and delivery of social presentations to the Client
  • Work with Media Planning and the Account Team in the development of annual media plans and campaigns
  • Develop unique and time-tested ideas to include in the holistic campaign
  • Define strategy, tone, and executable social ideas
  • Utilize social tools and reports to identify opportunity
  • Plan and monitor social media campaigns, inclusive of paid media and organic conversations within the social space
  • Build and maintain client’s content distribution network by way of social media channels
  • Identify threats and opportunities in user generated content surrounding our brand, report to appropriate parties
  • Author, own and execute the Social Media Content Calendar
  • Conduct Blogger outreach and communications for brand promotions
  • Manage, Monitor and Engage in Social Media/Internet Communities with minute by minute participation in conversations that surround content and brand, answer comments, and mediate
  • Own Social Media, Online Communities, Blogs, Message Boards, Email Discussion Groups and Live Chats to generate exposure, publicity, and sales
  • Utilize writing skills to create copy and PR content within specified guidelines for internal and external clients
  • Gather and compile research data in a comprehensible format
  • Optimize tags, on feeds, sharing sites like YouTube/Flickr and search engines through copywriting, creative & keyword optimization & buzz pocket mining 
  • Daily management and oversight of the social marketing team
  • Inspire staff to master current technologies while learning up-and-coming technologies and social outlets
  • Partner with associates to ensure they have meaningful, relevant goals and professional development plans in place
  • Provide guidance, counsel, and mentorship to the team

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Advertising, Marketing, Business or other related field
  • 5+ years’ experience in Social Media Marketing
  • Be passionately in tune with the latest social media developments, online behaviors, and trends.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Keynote and current social media outlets (Facebook, Twitter, Google +, Instagram, Vine, Snapchat, Pinterest, etc.)
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication, multi-tasking, networking, time management and interpersonal skills
  • Urgency and strong attention to detail, specifically with regards to written communications
  • Strong command of the English language
