Our client, a leading services company based in New York City is looking to hire a Senior Systems Manager in the GIS space. This role begins as soon as possible.

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead and direct a team to develop and implement solutions that drive value to the business across all internal organizations that are serviced
  • Lead the planning of all application roadmaps across upgrades, product lifecycles, improvements and more, which includes adhering to company policy and compliance for application security, cyber security, PIN information, Sarbanes Oxley, Corporate Risk Management, EH&S and software maintenance contracts
  • Utilize methodologies that drive quick response for our customers' changing needs
  • Add value through thought leadership across many tech initiatives across the company
  • Oversee and direct external vendors and service providers, partnering with internal IT and business teams, as well as, PM and project sponsor teams
  • Over see a host of IT projects across resources, scope, budget and schedule, as well as, deliverables
  • Partner with business leaders to align all IT projects against goals of the businesses
  • Lead the team in the development of new and enhanced IT products from initiation through launch, owning all requirements, business analysis, design, coding, configuration, customization, testing and implementation
  • Ensure IT's project management, functional, compliance, and cost management goals and KPIs are met. Life-cycles may be traditional Waterfall/System Development Lifecycle, Agile or other approved methodologies
  • Manage change across the implementation of new ideas, emerging or changing business needs, and scope or priority changes
  • Develop effective business relationships and manages and maintains open and effective communications with all stakeholders
  • Develops staff; researches/provides recommendation on technical training, evaluates/provides feedback for skill development of senior technical staff
  • Performs other related tasks and assignments as required

About you:

  • Bachelor's Degree in IT, computer science, business administration, engineering or decision sciences including mathematics, analytics, quantitative methods. Bonus if you have Master's Degree Majors in IT, etc.
  • Minimum 8 years experience designing, developing, implementing and operating technologies in one or more IT domains (applications, data, solution, infrastructure, process change management)
  • Ability to engage stakeholders and maintain open communications
  • Ability to interact with senior leadership, external stakeholders and communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
  • Must be flexible and able to work off-hours as required to support deployments, resolve production problems or respond to corporate emergencies
  • Three to five (3-5) years leadership or managerial experience
  • Driver's License required
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Training and/or certification in Project Management is a plus
