Onward Search is looking for a Technical Director to join our faith-based client in Atlanta for a long-term onsite contract role! Benefits are available throughout the life of the engagement.

Position Scope:

  • This is a W2 contract role expected to last for 12+ months.
  • All work must be completed onsite at the church offices in northeastern Atlanta.
  • Standard work hours are Mon 9am-5pm; Tue 9am-9pm; Wed 1pm-4pm; Thu OFF, Fri OFF, Sat 12pm-8pm; Sun 7am-3pm. Total expected weekly workload is 40 hours/week.
  • There is the potential for conversion into a permanent employee for the right person.

Position Summary:

  • You will oversee the technical aspect of production and the execution of events and ministry services.
  • You will be responsible for leading production staff, contractors and volunteers.
  • The overall goal of this position is to ensure the look and feel of ministry service experiences convey and uphold the vision of the church.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Research and recommend new technology for integration into church services to help enhance the main goal of the ministry
  • Create and establishes Production SOPs for audio, video, and lighting (“A/V/L”) equipment.
  • Provide technical support to ministries.
  • Schedule A/V/L positions for events.
  • Develop, design, and maintain stage set looks.
  • Design service flows for various church services/events
  • Working knowledge of video system i.e. matrix routers, video switchers, video recording servers
  • Working knowledge of various audio consoles
  • Working knowledge of various lighting consoles
  • Working knowledge of standard power and 3 phase power
  • General networking knowledge
  • General rigging knowledge to ensure a safe working environment
  • Manage various install projects that integrators will preform
  • General video and audio editing
  • Maintain Mac computers with upgrades
  • Partner with global campus Technical Director and satellite production teams to ensure seamless transitions between campuses in regard to processes, training and standards

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Theater, Communications, Media, Film/Video Production, Audio Engineering or similar preferred
  • 7+ years experience in a technical production role focused on live events, preferably within in a nonprofit or faith-based organization.
  • Exhibit a servants heart and high moral character in the areas of integrity, dependability and perseverance
  • Organized with strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Team-oriented: able to thrive within the framework of a large team of volunteers
  • Digital Audio Production experience preferred
  • Pro Video or Studio video experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Pro tools and Final Cut
  • Able to perform physical activity, including lifting, pulling, bending, carrying, and pushing equipment as needed to set up activities and events. Ability to lift a minimum of 25lbs.
  • Training and/or education in media production (or related field) preferred.
  • Experience using ProPresenter setup and operation.
  • Advanced experience of Ross Video Switchers, Grass Valley broadcast video systems, and or similar complex A/V/L equipment.
  • Working knowledge of large-scale productions, and the implementation process of rigging and programming for live and recorded events.
  • Relevant experience to assist other areas of the Live Production department preferred.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office on a Mac.
